A SESSION
When you meet someone, for the first time or the hundredth time, there’s a grace period where you both are becoming (re)acquainted with each other and what you are bringing into the room. For this reason, we take ten minutes to individually settle into the space, both in person or virtually, before the bulk portion of the session begins.
Settling into the space requires us to settle into ourselves. During these initial moments, we each clear our fields (mind, body, spirit, and therapeutic container), ground, and call in an invocation for the session. Don’t worry if this is new to you. Exercises are woven into the session time; and, in time, you can organically build a practice of your own. Sitting or lying down in silence, focusing on your breath, is a great place to start.
Our sessions are entirely co-created. Meaning, it is your responsibility to bring an offering into the space, a: situation, behaviour, dynamic or pattern. From there we will intuitively deepen and/or expand your offering combining somatic (body), transpersonal (spiritual), humanistic, and Jungian approaches to psychotherapy practice.
INTAKE
Our life experiences shift and shape us into experiencing the world and ourselves in entirely unique ways. We carry with us all of the people and experiences that shape us. We may feel it without knowing what it is. Our first four to six sessions are designed to help me understand it.
Here, you’ll flesh out family and personal dynamics; family history; childhood, teenage years, early adulthood, adulthood, and mid-life; education and professional experiences; and, spirituality. We’ll only touch on what feels safe enough. These sessions are to provide the basic lay of the land, not to do any deep work.
After these sessions, we begin wherever you feel ready.
